If you read about surfing, you know Ben Mondy. Hilarious, witty, and tack sharp in his observations about the not-so-serious act of surfing, Surf Europe‘s Mondy has penning stories about riding waves for a long time.
A few years ago, he landed on a Red Bull sponsored boat trip in Fiji. It was packed to the gunnels with the world’s best surfers: Bruce Irons, Mick Fanning, Jamie O’Brien, Ian Walsh, and Andy Irons. Lyndie, the perpetually beautiful, ridiculously charming wife of Andy, happened to be there, too. As one is likely to do in the presence of Lyndie, Ben was smitten. The animation above is the story of Ben’s soul-crushing realization that the way he saw himself was not, exactly, the way Lyndie did.
