Rincon has been on fire lately. Unless you’ve been binge watching “Making a Murderer,” only emerging from your darkened room to tip the Chinese food deliveryman, then you’ll know that it has been pumping relentlessly; a recent flurry of dreamy, machine-like perfection.
Over the weekend, the Queen of the Coast turned on with everyone trying to get a piece of her flawless fruits. It’s rare to miss Dane Reynolds out in the lineup when the waves get pumping and, sure enough, he was out there blowing up. But while all the short-term attention spans are transfixed on the recent squall of surf, we’d be remiss not to fondly remember one of last year’s most epic days.
The above edit comes to us from Dual Hemisphere Media and it shows an aerial glimpse at what is arguably one of the best days of last year out at Rincon, December 5th. It’s like Waterworld out there – surfers, kayakers, water photogs, maybe even some post apocalyptic scavengers (who knows!). People are blatantly burning each other, shoving one another off waves, and s-turning in and out of deer-in-headlight crowds.
But nobody seems annoyed. After all, it’s absolutely pumping.
