I love filming big, barreling waves and that’s what I got on Thursday November 6, 2025. The waves were mostly too fast for a bunch of in-and-out barrels, but it was good for an early season swell in Los Angeles, and the local surfers weren’t complaining.
I was trying to find a place to film during this first significant northwest swell of the season. I got a tip from a friend, who then didn’t get back to me so I knew he’d paddled out. That’s when I went to check on the spot. One thing I’ve learned from filming all these years, anytime you leave waves to find waves, it never seems to work out. And there were plenty of surfers willing to take a shot at coming out the other side of these fast-moving tubes. Enjoy the watch, I know I did.
