Ben Gravy and company are continuing their European tour, this time through Switzerland. The experience can be summed up by Ben’s exclamation while looking out the window after crossing the border: “Look at this. So Swiss, dude.”
They start off in France, grab a few croissants, then journey to the Swiss Alps to visit the Alaia Bay wave pool. On the way, they passed Lake Geneva and decided to tempt fate on some tiny freshwater waves. “We just drove by lake Geneva and it’s going off. Shin-high bombs. Cobblestone point,” crowed Gravy. If only we could all be as excited as him about going straight in a lake.
Then it was off to the main event: Alaia Bay. The wave pool, sporting Wave Garden technology, has the unique distinction of being possibly the only surfing wave with the Swiss Alps in the background.
“It’s not right. It can’t be real. It shouldn’t be real,” said Gravy of the experience.
