The Inertia

Howling offshores are nice, aren’t they? Sure, it can be a bit of a pain when you’re looking down the line at a perfect wave, just moments from popping up, only to find that the wind is under your board and you’re not going to make it. But if you’re looking for long tubes, the tip of South Africa is a good place to start.

In the three-minute video you see here, stitched together courtesy of We Bodyboard, a handful of bodyboarders and a few surfers thread their way through some very, very long barrels. Surf spots are notoriously fickle around the world because of pesky little things like wind and swell and tide, but when everything comes together… well, that’s what we’re all hoping for. Filmed on November 16, the wind was blowing about 30 mph straight offshore and those in the lineup were rewarded with seemingly never-ending tubes.
