Kirra was slammed by Cyclone Alfred recently, and conditions were, to be frank, ridiculous. Surfers, from the everyday kind to the Jack Robinson and Joel Parkinson kind, scored the waves of their lives over the course of a few days. But as everyone knows, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.
In this case, one of those eggs was a PWC. “Cyclone Alfred smashed plenty of surfers,” Raw Surfing wrote on YouTube, “and finally it scored a Jet Ski. Only 23 jet skis left in the lineup.”
When things get especially hairy, PWCs can be handy in the surf, but they can also be very dangerous — especially when they’re bobbing around in the waves. Luckily, someone got to this one relatively quickly, but it’s not clear whether the guy on the boog managed to drive it out of the impact zone.
