The Inertia

Before Paul Fisher became FISHER, the Grammy-nominated musician, producer, and one of the most popular DJs on Earth he was just Fish. Now, he has had residencies in Las Vegas and Ibiza, played a float at Carnival in Brazil before 250,000 people, hosted his own South Beach pool party at the Delano Hotel during Miami Music Week, and nailed headline sets at Coachella. But the surfing world knew him first.

Fish was awesome, too. The middling QS warrior with a hilarious vlog called Fish Tales would stick dildo-shaped mics in the faces of people like Kelly Slater with a cheeky grin on his face. He was also part of a duo called Cut Snake, along with Leigh “Sedz” Sedley, but the level of fame he’s since achieved wasn’t expected by anyone. Anyone except, maybe, him. Fame doesn’t appear to have changed him all that much, either. He’s still just a guy who surfs really well and enjoys a good party.

In a semi-recent episode of Fish Tales, FISHER headed to Dubai on the way to India for yet another performance. But when in Dubai, he did a very Dubai thing: rented a Ferrari and tore around with a few surfboards on top on the way to Surf Abu Dhabi. (Fisher, if you’re reading, throw a twist in the straps to stop that annoying buzz.)

After a (very) quick drive, they wound up surfing in the desert, then heading to India for a sold-out show that likely had him buzzing far more than any wave or car ever could.
