The Inertia

Hurricane Michael fell just short of Category 5 status last week, making landfall over Florida and sweeping westward. It wreaked a lot of havoc there and even made its way through the Gulf and into Central America, unfortunately,  as hurricanes so often do.

At one point about 3.7million people were under hurricane warnings in parts of Florida, southeastern Alabama, and southern Georgia. But as you know, the flip side of the devastation from these events as far as the surf world is concerned is that these disturbances also bring waves. Naturally, mixed in with those warnings for civilians were the forecasts for surfers. A man named Justin Boyce, for example, left Louisiana when he saw, in his own words, that parts of Orange Beach, Alabama would be “off the Richter.” We only wish this newscast had more surf in it for you to enjoy.
