Who doesn’t love a good pulled-back shot? It is, after all, what made ace photographer Chris Burkard‘s work famous – that and its inherent “wow factor.” What makes this shot special is the fact that viewers get a greater perspective of this stretch of Australian coast as well as the perfect, empty split peak in the foreground. This image takes the cake for #InstaFlavorOfTheWeek for two reasons: first, the aforementioned style surf photography fans have come to love; and two, the fact that here in Southern California, a wave of this caliber, at this time of year, would have an untold number of people on it as well as an equally depressing number of people paddling for it/dropping in on the shoulder.
