The US Open is a grind. It’s meant to be a party. A celebration in Surf City USA. But it’s really just a grueling week of mayhem with a few surf heats on the south side of the pier every day.
If you’re a competitor, it’s a grind. There are a healthy number of QS points up for grabs and if you just so happen to be the last one standing, you’ll bank a decent check to boot. But in the midst of all that you’ll have to dodge all the brand events, the parties, concerts, and literally squeeze your way through crowds of people on the beach that would rival an evening in Times Square. If you’re lucky you might make it through the intersection of PCH and Main Street without being told why you’re going to hell. And if you’re really lucky, you’ll find your way into an In n’ Out after winning a heat…because who comes to California without getting a Double-Double?
If you missed all that though, at least you have Jake Paterson and an entertaining peanut gallery to show you what was missed.
