The North Shore, as you know, is recovering from a swell bender of epic proportions. “Recovering” is a bit of an operative word, because there are still plenty of waves at the time of this writing, but it appears that things are calming down, at least a little bit.
One would think, then, that North Shore surfers would be taking a few moments to rest their aching bodies, but one would be wrong. John John Florence, among many others, recently scored heavy Backdoor on a classic Hawaiian day. A warm breeze, blue skies, and absolutely firing waves. It was, as usual, a little on the crowded side, but that’s to be expected.
Off Da Lip was there to catch the action, and the action was good.
