The Inertia

Justine Dupont is officially in the realm of the elite big wave surfers in the world. And the French charger isn’t just stuck to that one form of wave riding, either – Dupont’s skill on nearly any kind of surfboard in any kind of condition is nothing short of mind-boggling.

But recently, her performance in giant waves has been one of her major shining points. At around the same time that Maya Gabeira was being pulled from the water at Nazaré after her horrible near-death wipeout, Dupont was surfing massive, 45-foot Belharra.

And just last month, she tackled the Irish Teahupoo with a smile. Mullaghmore’s not exactly the friendliest of waves – huge, heavy, and cold, it’s one of those waves that pretty much ticks all the boxes for anyone looking to scare the shit out of themselves.
