Monday was a good day to be surfing Kirra. Photo: YouTube//Screenshot
When Kirra cooks, it really cooks. Remember what Cyclone Alfred made it do back in March? And on Monday, the pot was boiling. Not as hard as it was in March, but for most surfers, that’s a good thing.
Australia’s Gold Coast is a wave-rich place. It’s full of stunningly good ones, so the ones that stand out are really, really good. The waves like Kirra. Since it’s one of the best waves in a place with some of the most incredible waves in the world, it’s not the emptiest lineup you’ve ever seen, but those who’ve surfed will likely tell you the juice is worth the squeeze.
Here, Raw Surfing flew the drone above the lineup for a few hours, and it’s five minutes that’ll have you wishing you were in the water.
