Italo Ferreira's board art at the Billabong Pipe Masters... how eye-catching!

He likes big butts and he cannot lie.

The Inertia

If you’re like me, you’re probably not watching the Billabong Pipe Masters. Contests—for me, anyway—ain’t worth watching unless the waves are pumping. Instead, you’re cleaning your house, drinking mid-day bourbons, and every now and then looking for things online that might interest the general public (thanks, Reddit!).

I’m not into the scores and the competition side of things (not to say that I don’t appreciate it), but I am very into watching surfers far better than I could ever hope to be surf on waves that I routinely have dreams about. Oh, and the board art, but only in very specific instances. Come to think of it, this is the only time I’ve batted an eye at board art, except for when I was aghast that Quik let Dane scribble their logo on his boards. But board art like Italo’s… how eye-catching! Oh, the hilarity of that slow pan at 1:49:20! And how did no one bring it up?
