Brazilian skimboarder Lucas Fink secured his fifth world title with a win at the fourth stop of the United Skim Tour (UST) in Delaware this week. The 2025 title is the fourth in a row for the 26-year-old from Rio de Janeiro.
Fink has dominated the 2025 skimboarding circuit, claiming the overall victory with two events remaining. He won the first four events of the season – Mexico, Brazil, North Carolina, and Delaware – to build an insurmountable lead over the second-ranked Dane Cameron of Laguna Beach, California.
Fink celebrated his title on Instagram with the simple caption “5x world champion.” Surf and skim icons congratulated him in the comment section.
“Monster,” said WSL champion and Olympic gold medalist Italo Ferreira.
“Legend,” added big wave surfer Justine Dupont.
“Let’s go champ,” said big wave skim pioneer Brad Domke.
Fink’s fifth title trails only the unprecedented eight titles earned by Laguna Beach skim legend Bill Bryan. When we asked Fink if he was going to keep competing on the world tour after this season to chase Bryan’s record, he cryptically responded, “Only God knows.”
Aside from skimboarding shorebreak, Fink has burst into surfing’s global spotlight for his feats riding finless skimboards at some of the heaviest waves in the world, such as Jaws, Maverick’s, and Nazaré.
The final two events of the UST season will take place in California: Laguna Beach, August 23-24, and Newport Beach, September 27-28.
While Fink has already wrapped up the men’s title, the women’s race is still up for grabs. California’s Alex Yokley and Brazil’s Julia Dias lead the rankings.
