If you’re on the North Shore of Oahu and you’re standing in the Foodland parking lot facing the ocean, if you climb a tree and really crane your neck you might see a little wave called Rubber Duckies. Chances are good that no one will be surfing it, but it’s there. It’s next to Shark’s Cove, the place that’s full of snorkeling tourists in the summer and Jamie O’Brien in the winter. The inside bowl is Rubber Duckies, and there’s a rock and a boil outside that’s known as Super Duck. Like we said, it’s not an incredibly crowded wave — mostly because it’s not at all user-friendly and frankly, the North Shore has far better waves within spitting distance — but Mason Ho doesn’t much care about any of that.
