If you can see it, Mason Ho can ride it. The North Shore surfer is known for his ability to find hidden gems in seemingly unsurfable conditions – and then absolutely rip them apart. So when he has a new film coming out, it’s worth taking notice.
Luckily for us, the Ho family scion just released a teaser for an upcoming feature, entitled Caveheart II. “Four friends from distant lands journey to ancient shores, where savage seas and icy waters guard waves seldom ridden.” reads the caption. “Armed with boards and thick rubber, they venture forth in search of glory, dry reef, hidden liquid caves, and a tale worth telling”
As you may have gathered from the name, the film is a followup to Ho’s earlier feature Caveheart. Originally released in May 2024, that film follows Ho and frequent collaborator Sheldon Paishon as they are “spurred into revolt against an airline when one of their surfboard bags doesn’t show up.” From there they head off to Scotland, where, “In an ice cold land, with a surf forecast not looking great, and limited time, these battles become a war.”
The full 27-minute features releases September 25th.
