Nate Behl is originally from Jupiter, Florida. Some time ago now, he took a two-week surf trip to the Mentawais with Justis St. John, a good friend and filmmaker who works at Kandui Resort. Fate had different plans than returning home to Florida, however, and Behl ended up turning his two-week trip into an open-ended job as a surf guide.
Recently, the Mentawais Islands have finally begun to fire. “Mentawais have finally started to pump was the biggest south swell since last year in July,” Behl wrote. “Unfortunately, the winds weren’t good, but I managed to score a 40-minute window and catch these three waves during the swell.”
