The Inertia

It wasn’t the best of springs here in the Northeast, as far as waves go. The weather was off to a chilly start, the water remained cold, and the swells were small and inconsistent.  On the other hand, there were some moments of brightness here in the Ocean State, which happens to be the nickname of Rhode Island.

This little state often goes unnoticed in the surf world, as it’s overshadowed by the regions to the south in New York and New Jersey. But yes, this place does exist. The area can be quite beautiful with its own unique New England character and feel, offering some great nature, beaches, cuisine, history, and moments of amazing dawn and dusk colors. If you combine the natural elements of the rising and setting sun, along with the water and what swell we do receive here, there can be some scenic moments to enjoy. So I decided to put together a collection of these things I’ve witnessed with my eyes and captured with my camera. Enjoy and appreciate the beauty our little state of Rhode Island can provide.
