While watching a professional-level surfer doing their thing is something most people can appreciate, it hits a little differently when an average Joe is surfing incredible waves. And on June 11, Balangan afforded a few of those average Joes to do just that.
The morning of the video you see here, the tide was low. The waves at one of Bali’s best breaks were about 8 feet, and the lineup was far from packed. Just a handful of surfers were out on that perfect morning, and although a strong offshore that picked up in the afternoon made some of the take offs a little tricky, it’s safe to say that those lucky enough to be there had a session they’re going to be replaying in their heads for a long time to come.
