The Inertia

It’s getting harder and harder to score empty waves. With social media, the internet, and the generally shrinking global village, finding a wave as good as the one above with only one other person to share it with is just about as rare a thing as one can hope for.

So when Benjamin Sanchis and Marc Lacomare showed up to a perfect setup somewhere in Africa, they were excited. Their legwork had paid off. There was a problem, though… and a problem of the worst kind. Their surfboards didn’t find their way there. Imagine looking at this wave with no surfboard? Pure torture.

Thankfully for the two Frenchmen, their host opened up his garage, blew the dust off a few old boards and let the boys go to work on an unpainted canvas. And paint they did. But they’re not letting on exactly where, and Africa ain’t exactly a small place.
