The lineups were packed. Literally everyone was on top of each other from jetty to jetty. The current was bringing everyone down the beach and the clouds covered the sun causing the worst lighting.
Even though it was not a hurricane, it was the second biggest swell we had this summer, topping Bertha and Cristobal. All the local guys were out dodging kooks. Chris Carhart had just gotten into one of the deepest tubes of the day and shot out the other end. I knew I had to swim out. Swimming out was pretty easy, except for the fact that I got sucked down the beach and had to swim back. Ten minutes later, I was in position to get this shot. After a fun and exhausting four-hour session, I was shot. I got out around 5, and I called it a day.
