Somewhere out there, Laird Hamilton is kicking himself. Laird, the world’s most-loved SUP fanatic/big wave surfer/tow in inventor/foil board surfer/Lance Burkhard would have been all over this like a Laird on a kale smoothie.
But this guy beat him to the punch. Yup, Bruno André is riding something called the AFS-1 Foil, which is used for “Windsurf light wind, Stand up paddle, windsurf foil, and SUP foil.” No regular surfing allowed. To be fair to the flaxen-haired Laird, what he did at Raglan on a foilboard was a hell of a lot cooler. See?
