Stephanie Gilmore is one of the greatest surfers in the world. She’s the full package: powerful, stylish, and always smiling. She walks through life with a sort of easy grace that’s nearly indescribable. It’s been that way for a long, long time. She’s got seven world titles under her belt and has surely cemented herself into surfing’s history books.
In 2012, she only had a measly five world titles — she had just come off a pretty incredible run, winning in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 before skipping a year and coming back to win in 2012 — so when Taylor Steele included her in Here & Now, it was a good thing. The section turned out to be a perfect mix of Steph’s surfing and Steph just being herself. It was a thing that everyone who loves surfing was excited about. And it is definitely a thing to rewatch. Thankfully, Mr. Steele has been kind enough to drop Steph’s section onto his YouTube channel, The Momentum Files.
