The Inertia

The Bombie is a Balinese peak known for producing one of the biggest waves in Indonesiaunder the right conditions. One of the outer reefs of Uluwatu’s many premiere surf breaks, the Bombie only really starts to break if it gets hit by a swell with some juice to it. Like a piece of unexploded ordinance from a long-forgotten war, the explosive power of the Bombie lies dormant until it suddenly and violently makes its presence known.

Well, it looks like the Bombie finally went off last weekend. According to the Surfind Youtube Channel, “Bombie’s first wave this June reached 2-3 meters, with the direction of the SSW (swell) and a moderate easterly wind which is the perfect offshore wind for Uluwatu.”

The chargers arrived, the guns came out, and the rest is immortalized in celluloid, or digital streaming video, as the case may be.
