The Inertia

Maverick’s is pretty sketchy on the cleanest of days. If you’re not fully sponsored, or fully connected, and want to surf it, you have to paddle your gun from the Half Moon Bay harbor, alone, through dark, sharky waters. Then you have to try to figure out the lineup out in front of Pilar Point. That’s all before catching a wave, and there’s no way you want to get caught inside in the “Graveyard” section. So towing seems to be one of the “safest” ways to go about surfing Maverick’s – you have a tow partner looking out for you and you don’t have to paddle in. But this looks like one sketchy tow session at Maverick’s, and it doesn’t appear to be safe at all. Powerline Productions put together this rowdy edit for our viewing pleasure.
