Trying to fight the crowds in Zicatela can be tough, so one day I decided to head north and check out a fun beach break that doesn’t need much swell to pop off. Sure enough, when we showed up the place was in fact going off. Perfect, offshore peaks everywhere. The water was blue, the sun was out, and barrel after barrel rolled through. I snapped a few photos and jumped straight into the water.
We surfed all morning with no more than three people out. And quite frankly, isn’t that what Mexico is all about?
