Tom Carroll is a legend in the surfing world. He’s got a couple of world titles under his belt, along with three Pipe Masters trophies.
He’s been a staple of surfing since most of us can remember, and he’ll continue to be one for a long time to come. Mikey February and Tom Carroll, however, don’t surf all that similarly, so it’s interesting to see Carroll riding February’s latest craft, the aptly named Feb’s Fish.
As is generally the case with the series, What’s Going On?, Carroll is joined by Luca Elder. The show follows the pair as they test the most popular new boards on the market. Both are riding Feb’s Fish with these dimensions: 5’1″ 19 3/4″ 2 1/4″.
“It’s very much a classic fish design coming off the back of the board,” Carroll said on first inspection. “Very, very subtle vee that’s been placed right on the end behind the fins and a subtle double concave to concave up front. It’s just a beautiful, even curve throughout the board, which is going to lessen its chances of getting stuck in the curve of the wave.”
From the looks of their session, both Carroll and Elder are about as happy as you can get after finding a magic board.
