The Inertia

On October 15th, for about three hours in the afternoon, Uluwatu was very, very good. As is often the case when Uluwatu is working, a host of really good surfers were there. When you think “really good surfer” and “Uluwatu,” Rio Waida’s name should spring to mind.

“A heavy, long-period swell hit the Bukit Peninsula with perfect SE wind for the west side!” Surf Raw Files wrote. “Not many doable waves at the Bombie but some heavy takeoffs and wipeouts. Outside Corner was firing!”

Rio Waida was one of the few who braved the conditions. While it was a little windswept and not the easiest, the lucky few who snagged a wave will have it locked in the memory bank for life.
