If Canada were a verb, Canada-ing would consist of a few things, probably. We’ll have to corroborate with our resident Canadian, Alex Haro, on this, but when we Americans think of the friendly country to our north, we think of big wild places, beards, and ample maple syrup.
For Hanna Scott, one of Canada’s top female surfers, that’s at least partly true. Canada-ing involves camping in remote nooks and crannies off Vancouver Island in pursuit of waves, fishing and diving for sustenance, and surrounding yourself with good company.
The above is just a glimpse of how beautiful parts of untamed coastal Canada really are, and the waves on offer if you know where to look.
