Jamie O’Brien surfs a lot of weird waves. But none, perhaps, weirder than this one, a converging, backwashy shorebreak gem that absolutely destroys him. Basically, the point is to take off, get as much speed as possible, then pull one giant maneuver with little regard for landing it. If you hadn’t heard, Jamie had knee surgery this spring so it always makes us wince to watch him chuck himself like, well, it’s his job. Which it is.
