Aerials in surfing are catching on. It wasn’t too long ago that surfers like Christian Fletcher were the only ones doing them. Skateboarding was kicked off by surfing, so it only makes sense that surfing would come full circle and start borrowing things from skating, but still, things like shuv-its and kickflips aren’t exactly commonplace. But there are a handful of people learning them and pushing themselves to master them. One of those people is Kevin Meza, a fella who goes by the nickname of the Baja Koala. He lives in Ensenada and is very clearly inspired by skate-inspired surf tricks. As such, he decided to challenge himself to see just how many shuv-its he could do in a single session.
