The Inertia

William Aliotti is a guy who knows how he likes to surf. He knows what feeling he wants, and he knows what kind of surfboard he wants to ride on any given wave. But an asymetrical twin and big Uluwatu is where his bread is buttered, and early in August, he got a lot of butter for that bread.

“On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the biggest swell of the year hit Indonesia,” he wrote. “I decided to take out my 5’10” Asym Twin from Ryan Lovelace for the biggest Uluwatu session I’ve ever surfed! It was insane and intense — some of the biggest waves I’ve ever ridden in Uluwatu. It felt like snowboarding.”

Aliotti is one of those guys who has managed to create a style that is uniquely his. Style’s a weird thing, though — tough to describe, but easy to see. Speed, power, and flow all play a part, but there’s something else mixed in, too. And Uluwatu’s big, powerful walls are an ideal place for Aliotti’s style.
