Novelty waves are only novel if they’re rarely surfed. And this was certainly a rare day in Denmark. Marlon Lipke (who’s put his time in on the competitive circuit), Mor Meluka, and German surfer Finn Springborn, caught the day of days in Denmark’s Cold Hawaii region. But Klitmøller, on Denmark’s northwest coast, gets good more often than the surfing public thinks. Hence the video from the YouTube page, Surfers of Denmark, above. In fact, there’s a healthy water culture along this exposed coastline and the secret is getting out, at least in Europe. Watching this minute-plus worth of waves above, you can see why.
