“Once you figure out the important things in life, you find ways to do them.” – Los Angeles Swimmin
So goes the life of hiking, cliff jumping, and hot springs. “People ask me all the time: ‘How do you afford to travel?'” the narrator begins. “My standard response is: ‘How do you afford to do anything? You just set your priorities.'”
Priorities, dude.
But don’t go thinking this is a short film confined to the act alone. Beyond the hucking and corking is a rather thoughtful approach to all this, both philosophical as well as operational.
And in the end of Part 1, the narrator implores us viewers to take responsibility not only for our bodies as we hurl them through the air, but for the beautiful locales that serve as our ever-gracious hosts and unparalleled playgrounds.
“You as an individual are responsible for keeping these places pristine,” he concludes. “Don’t be an armchair activist and blame everyone else — you become the solution.”
That right there is the TRUTH.
