The Inertia

Going out in the woods or the ocean for a day of filming, getting the shot(s), putting it all together, and posting it to YouTube takes work. Now try rustling up a diverse field of athletes, choosing the best conditions in a weather window and pitting the athletes against each other in said conditions, filming it all and serving it up live to thousands of viewers across the world – now that’s an insane amount of labor, and it takes guts, too.

Last year, I was lucky enough to cover the Kings and Queens of Corbet’s competition at Jackson Hole. Chatting it up with athletes, running from the top of the mountain down to the “crowd pleaser” jump and back, it felt like I was “behind the scenes.” Well, behind those scenes was another one, filled with a lot of men and women putting in their 110 percent. And I thought I was working hard…
