The Inertia

A small tornado touched down in Los Angeles on Friday. While it wasn’t a really devastating one by any means, it was enough to do some serious damage to the southern part of L.A. According to the National Weather Service, it was an EF0 tornado, with wind speeds reaching up to 85 miles an hour – enough to blow over trees and rip shingles off roofs.

“Ooooh beep,” said Jamie Mena, a local resident who caught the tornado on his phone. “Beeeep beep,” he continued. While no one was injured, Jamie was shaken up. “Mother beep,” he exclaimed in the footage. “I caught that beep on camera!”

With the weather system came an incredible amount of rain. At least one guy had some fun with the weather. Chris Cote, not usually a sponger, tried to mop up the streets. And as a former Urban Boogie Boarding champion, Cote showed that he’s still got what it takes.
