Travel ain’t always easy. The lines, the eggy customs officers, the layovers, the jetlag, the money, blah, blah…the list goes on. But usually, if you know where to go and when to do it, the benefits can outweigh the hardship.
In the latest episode of Rip Curl’s resurrected “The Search” series, Dillon Perillo, Luke Hynd, and Pat Curren go far and wide with hopes of scoring turquoise perfection. In the initial episode of this particular “Search” voyage, the boys found a previously unridden wave in a remote land. Now this time, they jaunt off to another remote island, having to pose as “scientific researchers” just to get permission to travel there. Now that’s going above and beyond in the name of surfing perfect waves. Personally, I can’t say that I’ve lied to an international officer in order to surf. But hey, more power to them.
“Has anyone ever surfed there before?” Dillon wonders while stumbling upon the abandoned shipwreck wave. “How do we know there’s not like metal on the reef?”
