Tatiana Weston-Webb has been missing from the women’s Championship Tour since March 2025. On Thursday, she made an official announcement that she plans to return to the CT in 2027.
“A lot of people are asking me about my plans for next year and I’m very proud to announce that next year I’ll be competing in the WSL World Tour. In addition, I will also try to qualify for the next Olympic cycle. I’m very, very excited, and I’m going to count on your support,” she said in a short video message.
Weston-Webb’s two years away from full-time competition have been anything but slow. Just months after she announced a sabbatical from the CT, she announced she was pregnant and gave birth to Bia Rose in February of 2026. She competed in the Rio Pro as a wildcard months later in June.
“It’s really hard to create goals right now especially being so fresh after birth. I definitely miss surfing like crazy and now that l’m watching the Gold Coast and the waves are firing, it’s definitely putting a little fire under my butt to want to be able to compete again,” she told The Inertia in May.
The WSL announced a new Maternity Wildcard before the start of the 2026 CT season, which it awarded to France’s Johanne Defay for the 2027 season. Meanwhile, the league announced that Weston-Webb would be receiving a season wildcard for the 2027 season.
