Just over a year ago, Puerto Escondido was slammed by a swell bigger than anything seen in decades. It was good and bad–while parts of the town itself were badly damaged, the waves were on a whole different level. Of course, everyone remembers Mark Healey’s wave–the one where he, in his own words, was “absolutely obliterated.”
Today, the WSL’s big wave event is happening at Puerto Escondido. It’s pumping. In honor of that, let’s have a look back some of last year’s wipeouts.
