The Southern Ocean isn’t the warmest place on earth. It’s not the coldest, either, and it’s definitely not the ugliest. It’s downright beautiful, in fact. Off the coast of New Zealand’s South Island lie a few very good waves. New Zealand seems to be one of those places where everything is right with the world: clean, brisk air, space to breathe it in, and waves-a-plenty for those willing to brave the long hauls and cold waters.
Chasing the Shot is a series that Red Bull put together following incredible photographers on their quest to get the perfect image. This installment follows tousle-headed Matt Dunbar (who is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever have the good fortune of meeting) on his trip to New Zealand’s remote Fiordland with Steve Wall.
