Ben Gravy’s endeared himself to tens of thousands of Youtube subscribers by being a really genuine dude who froths nonstop. It’s fun to watch the guy hunt down the weirdest waves he can find and feed off of that excitement just enough to get a little froth going yourself. If he’s done his job right, you’re going to grab a board and charge something regardless of the conditions, too.
But the guy’s life is actually pretty darn entertaining outside of the water, as well. Take just the first five minutes of this episode as an example. Ben hunts down Mom and Dad Gravy in his favorite surf shop. Rumor has it that Dad is buying a surfboard. Now Mom wants one too. Should she get one of Ben’s signature soft tops?
“Hey Ben, take a picture of me with my new surfboard.”
“You haven’t even bought it yet…”
Moments later: “What, you couldn’t decide on a board, Dad?”
“No, ‘cuz I like really generic boards like I guess you can say like your SUPERs are…”
Even stalking a friend at the beach and watching the guy innocently check the surf is full of laughing and trolling. And yes, the man does, of course, find himself some waves because well, he’s Ben Gravy and no matter how hilarious his life in between sessions may be, the guy’s never going to stay out of the water for too long.
