The Inertia

The GoPro Line of the Winter contest is has is singular objective: to discover the best ski and snowboard lines that went down in the ’23/’24 snow season. There’s $150,000 on the line, so as you can imagine, the judges weren’t short on entries.

Those judges are a who’s who of GoPro top tier athletes, including Jamie Anderson, Tom Wallisch, Sage Kotsenburg, Hedvig Wessel, and Kai Jones. There were thousands upon thousands of submissions from all over the world ranging in location from California, Argentina, Antartica and just about every in between.

Every month, the judges delved into the submissions, which are uploaded to social media and tagged with #GoProLineOfTheWinter. They picked the best ones and awarded $80,000 in total monthly awards. One skier and one snowboarder take home $10,000 a month from January to April, with a $20,000 prize for the skier and snowboarder who won the GoPro Line of the Winter.

The judges looked at three factors. Athletic performance, video capture quality, and overall wow factor were all weighed before the winners were announced.

Now that submissions are closed, GoPro stitched together and edit of the best of the best entries, and it is pretty spectacular to say the least.
