The Inertia

When Uluwatu gets really big, it’s not a wave for everyone. Hell, mid-sized Uluwatu isn’t a wave for anyone, either, but at least anyone with a bit of experience could give it a crack. But on August 20, it was big enough to keep the riff raff on the beach and big enough to give the others a few waves they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

“Finally the solid XXL swell is here guys, with plenty of solid walls at Uluwatu – this has to be the peak of the swell of the year,” wrote Sea N Surf on YouTube. “Bukit Coast Line has been on fire during the swell, I left Padang Padang and tried to snag in to Uluwatu which is totally worth it!”

With about two more months of the dry season left, it’s likely there will be more swells that light up Bali’s most famous wave, but will they compare to this one?
