Kanoa Igarashi hasn’t been on the tour all that long. In his four years, though, he has gone from a hopeful up-and-comer to a bonafide champion. It’s not just his surfing that’s changed, either. His attitude has shifted, too. He reeks of confidence now. He knows how good he is. He knows he has what it takes to win. And he’s owning all of it, unapologetically and with a passion not often seen in surfers. It’s only a matter of time before his trophies catch up with his talent. The WSL has been putting together highlight reels from surfers on the tour (see John John’s, Gabriel’s, and Steph’s), and now they’ve put together all of Kanoa’s best waves from his time in a contest jersey.
