No one would ever accuse Alex Knost of being normal. That’s probably a good thing because one gets the idea that Knost would never want to be normal. He’s been in and around the surf world his entire life, and on one particular trip to Costa Rica, something strange happened. After spending a day surfing “shit-hot waves” without drinking any water, he apparently spent a few hours running around naked while his father, Mark Martinson, and Robert August trailed after him trying to figure out what was going on. By Alex’s account, it was simply dehydration—but this is the first we’ve ever heard of someone sprinting around in the nude for an hour without knowing it because of a lack of fluids. Whatever the case may be, it makes for a darn good story.
