The Inertia

People are always trying to bring surf style to the hill. Making turns in armpit-deep fluff that resemble Conner Coffin’s rail game at Rincon is snowboarding’s holy grail. The opposite, however, has never really been a discussed pursuit. Until now.

Leave it to Ben Gravy to get an idea like this, strapping himself into a snowboard then paddling out the back to complete the snow/surf crossover.

“Snowboards don’t float,” you might be thinking. “And he’s gonna sink like a true Jersey mobster – just fit him with cement shoes.”

It turns out there’s a very good reason nobody’s been experimenting with the snow-to-surf crossover possibilities. But of course, this is Ben Gravy we’re talking about, so you know he’s not giving up after taking just one swing at it.
