Twenty-year-old Dakota Abberton, the youngest of the Abberton brothers, was charged with assault, aggravated robbery, possession of prohibited drugs, and affray after an incident in Maroubra on Sunday evening. According to reports, Abberton and a seventeen-year-old girl allegedly attacked Rebecca Mountfourt, 38, after Mountfourt asked the teenager accompanying Abberton to get off of Mountfourt’s motorscooter.
According to reports, Abberton and the female attacker punched and kicked Mountfourt, dragging her by her hair on the ground and leaving her partially blind in one eye. The victim sought treatment in Prince of Wales Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
According to police reports, Mountfourt’s purse, money, and phone were also stolen in the attack. In July, Dakota Abberton was tried for assaulting an officer at a New Year’s Party in Coogee Beach.
Both Abberton and the woman were denied bail and appeared in court today. They are scheduled to return to court tomorrow.
