In the Northern Hemisphere, winter is a fading memory – unless, of course, you live in Steamboat Springs, Colorado – but down south the dark season is just heating up or, rather, cooling down. An active Southern Hemi – the type California depends on to cure the summer doldrums – has also been lighting up parts of South America, and particularly South Africa, of late. And for evidence, look no further than the fruits of a month spent at home for Brendon Gibbens.
“There’s been a consistent run of surf in South Africa for the past two months,” explains Gibbens. “Autumn is generally pretty good, but winter is really the most exciting time of year. Vol.3 is a collection of recent footage accumulated over the past month. Most of the clips were captured at my local haunts in the Western Cape.”
