Many professional surfers have traveled to the Eisbach wave in Munich, Germany to film. Typically, they’ve shown the struggle to figure out the setup, filmed a couple of locals surfing then moved on with their lives. But in Dylan Graves’ Weird Waves series, Graves and his crew really examine the scene. Like they did in the Midwest, in Missoula, Montana and in Bend, Oregon. Here we meet a local surfer in Munich who likes to dive for buried treasure in the river behind the wave. We find out how surfers care for their spot and how some apparently once told Kelly Slater to beat it. Weird Waves is turning into a true little docu-series right before our eyes.
